Family Gateway North Shelter

Feed It Forward partnered with Family Gateway North Shelter to provide freshly prepared meals for individuals and families experiencing homelessness. This initiative began days before the event as volunteers carefully planned the menu, developed a shopping list, and purchased all necessary ingredients. Once the preparations were complete, volunteers worked together to wash, chop, season, cook, and package homemade pasta, chicken, vegetables, bread rolls, and bottled water. Every meal was prepared with care and attention to quality, ensuring that those we served received a nutritious and comforting meal.

On the day of service, volunteers traveled to Family Gateway North Shelter to distribute meals directly to residents. Beyond providing food, our team took the opportunity to engage with guests through friendly conversation and meaningful interactions, recognizing the dignity and value of every individual. Through this collaborative effort, Feed It Forward donated more than 317 pounds of food, raised over $400 to support future outreach initiatives, and provided meals for more than 120 individuals. This event demonstrated the power of community service and reinforced our commitment to addressing food insecurity and homelessness throughout North Texas.
